Last Weekend's Update
Moving is complete, and boy and I glad it’s over. Everything went pretty smoothly for the most part. We smoothed out the cat issues with ease on the 14th. The comedy show was so funny it hurt, man that was a good time.
The actual movers took 5 hours to take us out of our condo and into the apartment. Then Saturday Bill and Shane were very very helpful in getting my fragile items moved. If I had to do it over again however I would have just had the movers on Friday do it all because they were much more gentle then I thought they were going to be. Bill, Shane and I however did get the rest of our items moved with out any issues. If it would not have been for those two then I would have been near dead from all the trips up and down those stairs. Thanks guys! Sunday we just cleaned and repaired the walls. The folks that bought the condo walked though and Chris our realtor stopped by.
Monday I stayed home (apt) to let the cable guy in, while Loretta went to the condo to let the carpet guy in to repair the carpet. At 9 I get a call from the realtor asking where we were… “Where we are?” “Yeah the closing is today” “…”
I was in shock! It was supposed to be Tuesday, the 19th. That’s what he told me before. Well anyhow we were caught off gurad, we didn’t even have the cashiers check we needed for closing. So I went to the condo and loaded all the things we still had in there, which was all the cloths we were still washing and all the cleaning supplies that we had and loaded them into the back of my truck, then I drove to the closing. We got in there and signed our condo away while I am just dripping in sweat. Anyhow I still went back to the condo afterward and swept the place out. The new folks in it seemed to have some questions on it also, so I did my best to get those answered.
Later that day we got digital cable and a cable modem. Hot damn the cable modem is fast! It’s the fastest connect I have ever seen. And digital cable is the coolest thing I think I have ever seen. All those options for looking for things to watch. And all the different settings you can set for this or that… too cool!
Our place looks like a war zone right now. There are boxes and packing every where. We are going to do our best at making this livable while not unpacking all that much at the same time. I am sure over the next week things will come together.
EDIT: I have edited the links on the side of my blog. Some of them were broken, others just unused.
