I think I want to resign now...
Not from my job mind you, mostly from the world we live in.

I can't believe how stupid we are as a race. We are hung up on a word like refugee, you know someone that seeks refuge!?!? However some feel that this is a racist term, not because of its meaning or his historical context because in this case its people of NOLA that it is describing. People that are mostly poor and black. Notice that I said MOSTLY. Its not all poor and black its just mostly... because that's who lives in NOLA. Or at least that's the faces we are seeing on TV. What we are not seeing is all the other folks that had the sense/money to get the hell out of town before it hit. Those folks are refugees also. All the rich WHITE folks that are homeless seeking refuge else where.
I am SO sick of all the political bullshit that our nation (and all nations) seem to have. So I ask, where do I turn in my resignation letter?

Also checked the mudslides/fires in San Diego from 2003 to see if the term refugees was used... the survivors/victims/what have you also went to the Football stadium to seek refuge. Couldn't find the word mentioned there.
It's either the partial definition that people have adopted to mean "a different country" that is what people think... but you are right about people wanting to drop the race card as many times as possible.
I do think if it were Beverly Hills they would be "survivors", but who knows?
I think I would have taken over all the school buses if nothing else to get folks out.
