wikipedia is cool... but... the admins are tools.
Wikipedia is cool but the people that police the acticles are tools. I would try to get "wikipedia Elitism" added to the wiki but they would strike it down. Maybe this isn't a wikipedia issue... because in the past when I was dealing with wiki people and ran in to some issues the wiki people were anal retentive assholes also.

And then you Google the words Wikipedia elitism you get a hilarious titled article about Wikipedia's "anti-elitism"!!?? Well I'm glad I found at least this post.
Wikipedia is elitist. Wikipedia is snobish. Wikipedia is full of censorship. Wikipedia is full of pedants and anal retentives.
The admins threaten people all the time for minor edits that go against their belief system. That if they don't block them straight away. It is hierarchical. And you have to do as you told if you want to go up in the hierarchy. Just be sheeple.
I see it all the time "some admin told me this is a no-no", "I've been told by so-and-so this is not suitable so I will revert it if it is edited", "this cannot appear on Wikipedia bacause it's not notable", etc. "Notable" and "unnotable" are some very popular words with the elite used to justify deleting things.
I have seen IPs getting blocked for very minor changes which disagreed with pedant and/or big-headed admins who love to let the power go over their heads.
And of course if you're not registered whatever you say has no value, you are simply inferior. It's not what you say, it's who says it. And even if you're registered you have to simply blindly obey until one day you are promoted in the hierarchy and may have the right to some opinion.
Registered users are often explicitly requested to "say something about yourself on your user page" to be able to receive any credibility for what they say. Never mind that you could just invent that personal information. Never mind that the information provided by anonymous users could be correct. Never mind that often a simple web search is enough to verify data.
And also when somebody's registered very frequently edits get deleted just because somebody doesn't like them. Happens all the time. And then some people just love an edit fight and are very very persistent. And it just doesn't work trying to discuss - been there, done that (many many times). Not woth the bother.

Hi again, just one more small comment.
A websearch for "anti-wikipedia" is turning up some interesting results. One of them:
"Wikipedia features the raw, unfettered and exhibitionistic domination exerted by ignorant and fascist bullies."

I'm sorry, that links seems to be corrupted. Another try:
"Wikipedia: A Techno-Cult of Ignorance"
"Wikipedia features the raw, unfettered and exhibitionistic domination exerted by ignorant and fascist bullies."
