House/Condo update

It looks like everything is going to work out fine. We ended up finding a play to live in the complex next to our condo. As it turns out the folks building our house also owns the complex next to our condo complex. They have a good deal that allows you to stay until your house is complete and you are ready to move out. So as usual it was a lot of worry only to see things work out for the best. The Lord provides 

We also had our condo inspection. They hit things we figured they would, we hope they won’t cost us too much. The windows in the bedroom need to be resealed. We have a lead on a few people that can help us with that. Also the carpet needs stretched, we knew this was going to be an issue, and we have some leads on getting this taken care of also. Lastly they feel that the faucet in the bath tub is loose. This is one thing we do not really understand since it doesn’t seem loose to us. If anything the flashing around the faucet is a little loose, and that I can fix myself.

The house looks like it’s coming along well. There are a few things in it that we question however. We hope none of them are too big of a deal, and are easy to fix. Stuff like the wrong placement of the master bath toilet and the stairs being uneven. I am going to have to have my dad look at the house prior to dry wall going up to see if he can spot anything that looks wrong. He doesn’t seem to have much confidence in his ability to spot things but as handy as he is, and as good as a carpenter as he is I trust he will see things I do not.

It seems like things are under control, but things are getting more and more hectic. We will be packing a lot these next couple of weeks, we will be getting things repaired and we will be moving. Once we move and close on the condo, all with in a few days of each other, things will calm down for about 2 months, then we need to move again and start over… again.

Temp Housing Blues

It looks like my wife and I are not on the same page for this temp housing thing. I am worried that if we do what she wants to do we will get stuck paying 3 months worth of apt rent for 2 months plus some odd days. Hmm I think I need to do a pro/con thing for both the temp housing and the apt.

See if we get an Apt we have a choice… do we live without tv, phone and internet? Or will those move with us with little problem? I guess it depends on how easy and expensive it is to move. The other thing is if our lease if from 4/15 to 6/15 and we need the apt till like the 20th because our house closing isn’t until the 20th… then we would have to pay rent on a full 3rd month on the apt. However this might be ok if the apt is cheap enough. Doing all of this also involves a lot more packing and unpacking. Oh and we would have to pay for electric, gas and water.

If we go with a temp housing thing it will run us about 850 a month. We only have to pay for the days we are here and we would have tv, phone and internet. We would not have to pay for electric gas and water. However we would have to get an extra storage unit to store our stuff in, because temp housing is furnished, this would also involve less packing. This option however will probably cost a little more. The real question is… How much more.

So now I don’t know what to do...

Oh and to top this all off... we are SCREWED if we start a lease and the folks that want to buy our condo backs out. Our inspection is this thursday so we will see where we stand after that.

Overwhelmed in Ohio

I feel overwhelmed. I am happy we have buyers for the house, although if they back out we would be screwed. I am very happy that the house will be finished in like 3 months. I however have to be out of this house in less then a month. I get to live somewhere else for two months then I get to move again. Every move costs money, every move is a chance to break things. We don’t know where we are going to live for 2 months. We do not have any family down here to move in with. Its going to be an apartment of some sort. When will I loose access to the comp? What are we going to do with all of our stuff? Can we live like vagabonds for 2 months before we move into the new house? We have to get a new fridge, washer and dryer… timing this is going to suck. Hmmm will we have phone, cable internet for those 2 months? We don’t really need the phone we have cells already. Cable… well I personally think that my life would be better without the TV, but much like a smoker… I love my TV. However a month without the net… that is absurd. We are planning on doing a lot of research and shopping for the home via the web.

This is hurting my brain. Remember Ryan, no need to worry, no need to doubt, the Lord will provide.

I am a d4

Take the quiz at dicepool.com

You are a four-sided die, a d4. Otherwise known as a tetrahedron, a "Caltrop", or (to a lesser degree) "Ol' Pointy". This crap bores you, so I'll get to the point. Others tend to see you as petty, conniving, manipulative, argumentative, defensive, greedy, and needlessly antagonistic. You see yourself as focused, effective, efficient, influencing, shrewd, tactical, and direct. Both points of view are in fact correct. You always know the best way to get things done, a fact that never wins sympathy with others. Whenever you manage to gain control of a situation, your solutions are swift and brutal. Unfortunately everyone else is convinced that granting you such power is, "a bad thing" and often conspire to keep it out of your hands. Such short-sighted fools!

Hmm well I didnt think I would be a D4... but at least I hurt when you step on me :)

Colorful Weekend

For some reason this weekend I got the bug in me to mess with Photoshop. I have tons of b/w pics from the internet on my pc that I have collected over the years. I downloaded these to use as monsters and creatures for RPGs. This has become even more useful since I started running games online. Anyhow this weekend I started taking these black and whites and added color to them. I only did 3 this weekend but one of them was pretty involved. I like doing these because I learn something new every time I do one. The last one I did would benefit if I learn a bit about burning and dodging.

Anyhow here are the fruits of my labors.
