Firing my host
Host Department the hosting company for this site is getting the boot (well unless they can do some amazing stuff in the next 12 days). They messed up the msg board with a software update then pretty much told me to fix it.
So if you see issues with this site around the 10th of May that is just me moving my domain. I will give a more detailed account of things when I am hosted on the other site.

Pope Post
You know I thought it was dumb that they wanted an older Pope, well this weekend I heard why that is. Because the church grows stagnate when there is a single Pope in office for that long. Also getting a new Pope re-energizes the church. It’s like having a successful marketing campaign. The more turnover you have in today’s times the more time you get in the media cycles. More press time means the church is in the minds of people more and they are more likely to be involved in the church if they are thinking about the church regardless of the reason.
This is sort of a cynical look at modern society and the church but it is far from untrue. In a way the Death of the Pope was good for the church. Yes I am aware that is rather morbid, but also not untrue. This however would not be so if John Paul was not such a wonderful man. He was loved and respected by millions, if not billions. His death however served a purpose, in that it brought the church back into the hearts and minds of many people, Catholic or not.
One could also say in a much more cynical tone, that the Cardinals want to get a quick turn over in the Papacy so that they get a chance to become Pope. That’s a pretty cynical claim, and I don’t have any evidence to say that it’s true or not, but knowing human nature as I do, I have to think it has to have crossed a few of their minds. If you are a student of history or if you have read “The Prince” then you know that the office the Pope holds has in the past been used for ones personal gain. The potential is still there however in a much weaker form, and the potential for human mischief is omni-present.
In the end you have to have faith that God’s will has been done even when working through the will of man

Here is a bit of new about Wholphins, which is a cross between whales and Dolphins. It seems there is one that is not sterile like most hybrd animals and some folks are unhappy about that.

Last Weekend's Update
Moving is complete, and boy and I glad it’s over. Everything went pretty smoothly for the most part. We smoothed out the cat issues with ease on the 14th. The comedy show was so funny it hurt, man that was a good time.
The actual movers took 5 hours to take us out of our condo and into the apartment. Then Saturday Bill and Shane were very very helpful in getting my fragile items moved. If I had to do it over again however I would have just had the movers on Friday do it all because they were much more gentle then I thought they were going to be. Bill, Shane and I however did get the rest of our items moved with out any issues. If it would not have been for those two then I would have been near dead from all the trips up and down those stairs. Thanks guys! Sunday we just cleaned and repaired the walls. The folks that bought the condo walked though and Chris our realtor stopped by.
Monday I stayed home (apt) to let the cable guy in, while Loretta went to the condo to let the carpet guy in to repair the carpet. At 9 I get a call from the realtor asking where we were… “Where we are?” “Yeah the closing is today” “…”
I was in shock! It was supposed to be Tuesday, the 19th. That’s what he told me before. Well anyhow we were caught off gurad, we didn’t even have the cashiers check we needed for closing. So I went to the condo and loaded all the things we still had in there, which was all the cloths we were still washing and all the cleaning supplies that we had and loaded them into the back of my truck, then I drove to the closing. We got in there and signed our condo away while I am just dripping in sweat. Anyhow I still went back to the condo afterward and swept the place out. The new folks in it seemed to have some questions on it also, so I did my best to get those answered.
Later that day we got digital cable and a cable modem. Hot damn the cable modem is fast! It’s the fastest connect I have ever seen. And digital cable is the coolest thing I think I have ever seen. All those options for looking for things to watch. And all the different settings you can set for this or that… too cool!
Our place looks like a war zone right now. There are boxes and packing every where. We are going to do our best at making this livable while not unpacking all that much at the same time. I am sure over the next week things will come together.
EDIT: I have edited the links on the side of my blog. Some of them were broken, others just unused.

Moving Day 2
Hey guys, I would normaly post this on the msg board but since its busted hopefully you will see this. This coming saturday... during the day... if you are available and you are willing I could use help moving all the fragile odds and ends that we are not trusting to the movers.
There will of be pizza, beer and pop in it for those that care to help. Oh yeah and my thanks which will is worth at least a solid $3.15.
EDIT: This is called Moving Day 2 because we have movers coming in on Friday. This will just be transporting the boxes that are fragile. And we are moving about 200 yards from where we are now so it should go fast.

Dane Cook's TOURGASM
Tonight I am going to Dane Cook's TOURGASM, this will be my ray of shining comedy in a sea of moving madness. It's been a long time since I have gotten to see any live comedy and ever though it may seem that the timing for this is a bit off considering all the moving crap going on, I think its just what we need.
The headliner is Dane Cook. His site is packed full of audio an video that will have you ROFLMAOing. :)

Stressville
So now we just finished the taxes. It’s not looking all that great. However it’s not the end of the world. My wife is a little stressed over them however. Also our Realtor called and gave me some numbers for the pay off at closing. I wrote them down but I don’t for the life of me know what they stood for. Anyhow he couldn’t give me exactly what I wanted he did however give me one number that I remember and I could use it to calc the closing day pay off. HOWEVER once the wife saw the number and the ones I could not explain she stressed further. Now I need to call the Realtor again and ask what all those numbers were again. It seems they want us to pay more fees and such then we had agreed to… if we had known about these we would have probably rejected the first offer we got. There are $700 in unknown fees. What can we do about these at this point? Not much, but I will certainly try.
Packing is however mostly done. There isn’t much left that we need to have ready to go for Friday. Things on the packing from look good.
On and one final note on the cat thing… the paperwork on the male cat does not say that he is fixed… however if they object… I can have them check him. Hee hee.

We have run into a snag with moving…
We are set to move on Friday, we have movers lined up, we sign over the condo on the 19th, we have every thing you would think you would need to move. However the Apt complex that we are moving into calls today and says they need a copy of the renters insurance, and a record from the Vet showing that we have the cats fixed and declawed.
The insurance is no problem, that’s all taken care of. The Vet info showing the cat info will be an issue however… as neither cat is declawed. This is the first they are telling us this, and we are set to take the apt tomorrow. It would have been nice to know ahead of time. Not that I would have rushed out and had them declawed, but we could have looked for something else.
So here is where I am, I HAVE to move into this Apt, I don’t see myself having any other choice, however if they are going to bar us from this then we are going to have to throw down. We picked this Apt because this company is also building my house, so they gave us some nice considerations. So far our experiences with this company have been outstanding, I really hope that doesn’t change.
Here is my plan of attack…
I want to talk to the girl that we first talked to at the Apt complex, instead of the drone I talked to today. The first girl seemed to be more with it. So since they were kind enough to tell me when they go to lunch I can swing by when the ditz is out to lunch and the good one is there alone. The good one, Heather, is the Assistant Manager and seems to be my best bet to get this through. However I can’t sign things during this most important lunch window because I will be alone without my wife… so we have to come back at 3 to sign. I am hoping this 3 hour window will be enough to let me fight it out with them or for them to contact the folks they need to. If they won’t budge then I will start calling up the ladder with this company. If this all looks hopeless then I will pull out a trump card I hope I do not have to pull. I will as my last desperate act threaten them with contacting Peta and reporting this company as insisting on the cruelty to animals. I do not know if this will work but it’s the most leverage I have, beyond asking politely appealing to them in a logical manner.
We do not believe in declawing the cats. Declawing is the same as cutting off the last digit of their fingers. Its not just pulling out the fingernail, it’s the loss of the last digit. That is just too cruel for us to do to pets we love. Also the apt is not coming furnished so I am not sure why they care.

Yes I know the msg board is down.
I am well aware that the msg board is down. I also have a good idea on how to fix it... however I do not have a good idea on how to fix it without ALSO deleting all the data on it. So I need to talk to the host to see what I can do. I did do a back up of the site (including the msg board) around the first but I want to avoid that if I can.

Nintendo as Art
One of my friends sent me this link... and a child of the 80's who just loved video games... this is pretty cool. Although I have to wonder if anyone in this video is old enough to have played the old style nintendo.

Counting down
Argh 9 days until I leave the 20’s forever. I am not all that worried about it, I mean I don’t feel old. It’s just that it’s a bitch slap in the face when I think of myself as still 22. Time just keep marching on anyhow…
In other news. My house is coming along fine. However someone stole my sump pump. I visited the house with my Dad on Saturday, the pump was there. I visit the house on Sunday with my Mom and it was gone. Not only was it missing but the plastic pipe that was connected to it was cut. I am just glad that it’s on the builders bill and not mine.
Temp housing is lined up, movers are in motion, we have reached out to the carpet stretchers and its looking good on the window replacement.
